The events in Charlottesville today sadden and anger me as I know it does so many of you.

As Christians, we KNOW there is but one race: human.  We all have the same DNA.  We all have the same blood.  We all have the same Image of God in us (cf. Genesis 1:27).

But we are broken–no, obliterated–by sin in us.  It is why we need a Savior–why we need Jesus.
White Supremacy is just one example, but it is a poignant example of the sin marring the image of God in us.

There is nothing “Christian” about white supremacy.  There is nothing that is “white” that is more sacred or special than any other ethnicity or culture.

As a white pastor, I want everyone to hear this loudly and clearly: racism is sin.  And like any sin, the Church cannot and will not tolerate it.

Not only do we stand with Charlottesville, we as Christians stand with every single person belonging to the beautiful panorama of color created by Almighty God.

“Jesus loves the little children.  All the children of the world.  Red and yellow, black and white, they are precious in His sight.  Jesus loves the little children of the world.”
