Psalm 34

Part 4 of 4

Verses 17-22

17 The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.

18 The Lord is close to the brokenhearted

and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

19 A righteous man may have many troubles,

but the Lord delivers him from them all;

20 he protects all his bones, not one of them will be broken.

21 Evil will slay the wicked; the foes of the righteous will be condemned.

22 The Lord redeems his servants; no one will be condemned who takes refuge in him.

We end our study of Psalm 34 with the encouragement from David to TRUST the Lord.

There are several reassuring promises we have in these few verses:

· The Lord hears us when we pray (v17).

· The Lord delivers us from troubles (v17).

· The Lord is concerned by our grief (v18).

· The Lord protects us (vv20-21).

· The Lord redeems us (v 22).

Verse 22 is really a summary of the entire Psalm. It’s David’s way of saying “I said this (in the 1st 21 verses) to say this”.
