for you lifted me out of the depths

and did not let my enemies gloat over me.

2 O Lord my God, I called to you for help

and you healed me.

3 O Lord, you brought me up from the grave;

you spared me from going down into the pit.

From Death to Life! (Verses 1-3)

David had three problems:

1. The ground that seemed to be letting him sink into a pit.

2. His enemies who wanted him to die (ergo the “gloating”)

3. The distress that led him to call for healing.

Yet…he exalted the Lord! He praised the Lord and acknowledged His healing and deliverance.
