26 The poor will eat and be satisfied;

they who seek the Lord will praise him —

may your hearts live forever!

27 All the ends of the earth

will remember and turn to the Lord,

and all the families of the nations

will bow down before him,

28 for dominion belongs to the Lord

and he rules over the nations.

29 All the rich of the earth will feast and worship;

all who go down to the dust will kneel before him —

those who cannot keep themselves alive.

There was a celebration for all who seek Him (verses 26-29)

God promised Abraham that his descendants would bring blessing to the whole world (Gen 12:1-3). This has been fulfilled in the coming of Christ to die for the world, but when He comes again, it will have a glorious fulfillment in the establishing of His glorious kingdom. Both the prosperous and the poor will submit to Him (v. 29) and find their satisfaction in His grace alone. Orthodox Jews close their religious services by quoting Zech 14:9 — “And the Lord shall be king over all the earth; in that day there shall be one Lord with one name”
