6 Now I know that the Lord saves his anointed;

he answers him from his holy heaven

with the saving power of his right hand.

7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses,

but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.

8 They are brought to their knees and fall,

but we rise up and stand firm.

A Confident Leader (verses 6-8)

· Notice the confidence of David here. (verse 6) “I KNOW”. Not I think but I KNOW!

· This reference to chariots and horses (verse 7) refers back to the Egyptian army that the Lord destroyed when His people cross the Red Sea from Egypt. These were Egypt’s best and yet they fell.

· Verse 8 is such a defiant confidence. Not because of David’s own abilities but because of the Lord’s!

· Where is your confidence?
